The successful applicant will report to the Regional ISC Director and will liaise with Istituto Marangoni staff. He/she will oversee the teaching of the Programmes, including the possibility of some teaching him or herself, the students’ progress and welfare, the academic links to the relevant departments for the students’ progression and liaison with staff regarding the students’ living environment.

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to work with ICR senior research leaders, research staff and students and the Learning and Development team in promoting the careers of female researchers at ICR and achieving Athena SWAN Charter recognition.

The post holder will be responsible for promoting and communicating the values of Athena SWAN. They will play a key role in assisting divisional champions and self assessment teams to gather, analyse and report on career progression data and feedback. They will also be involved in coordinating career development initiatives for researchers in response to recommendations from self-assessment teams, and assist in drafting the written submission for the awards.

The successful applicant should be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in the life science field, with strong written and oral communication skills. They should have the ability to gather, analyse and present qualitative and quantitative data, in writing and through presentations to senior managers. The ability to manage projects and keep to tight deadlines is critical, and the successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have excellent attention to detail.  Experience in carrying out research projects, and an interest and enthusiasm for promoting the careers of women in science and broader equality issues will also be of benefit.

The Role:

  • Financial and operational leadership; working as part of the College’s senior leadership to deliver and support the strategic objectives of the College, within a fast changing environment.

The Department of Marketing and Business Strategy is responsible for the provision of teaching, research and knowledge transfer for every aspect of marketing and business strategy. The role
Graduation is a vitally important component of the student experience and our Graduation Team is kept very busy supporting the thousands of people who graduate from BPP every year.  As Graduation Manager you will lead by example, providing a professional positive and constructive image to staff, colleagues and students. You will provide clear direction to staff, fostering a flexible team-working approach and establishing responsive, effective and efficient working practices and a proactive approach to new issues and challenges.  This will ensure that all matters relating to Graduation and related matters of institutional compliance are communicated and coordinated effectively.

Duties will include managing and coordinating the work of the Graduation Team and liaison with other staff to ensure the efficient and effective exchange of information and the execution of procedures relating to the work of the Graduation Team. Provision of relevant, accurate and detailed data to support internal monitoring and external reporting requirements, liaison with external suppliers involved in graduation events and minute-taking at such University College boards and committees as may be required from time to time.

What we’re looking for
You will hold a degree or equivalent level qualification and will have previous experience of managing graduation events.  An excellent planner and organiser, you will also have experience of the management of staff and departmental processes and of developing and maintaining records systems, operational procedures and management tools.  To ensure success you will possess a good understanding of governance and decision-making processes.

With proven analytical skills you will have excellent attention to detail and be used to multi-tasking and meeting deadlines. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to professionally represent senior management.  Finally, you are able to filter information and assess priorities whilst managing conflicting demands, working to continuously improve policies and processes.
