<p>Brunel University is looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our small and friendly Development and Alumni Relations team.</p>
<p>Fundraising from trusts, foundations, selected corporations and wealthy individuals is a fundamental part of our strategy and we are looking for someone who can build on solid foundations and prospect research to deliver increasing amounts of income from these sources. This will entail working with existing supporters and projects, but also expanding the University&#8217;s relationships network and matching potential donors to suitable projects.</p>
<p>The Development Officer will report to the Director of Development, but will be required to work well on their own initiative and to enjoy the hands-on approach and variety of work that comes with working as part of a small team within a large and complex organisation.</p>
<p>Ideally suiting someone with experience in a fundraising or marketing role in Higher Education, this job might also appeal to someone with a corporate background or experience with charitable trusts.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Full Time : The appointment will be on UCL Grade Clinical Training Fellow &#8211; Speciality Training Registrar. The salary range will be £34,329-£49,514 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.</p>
<p>This full-time Clinical Training Fellow post has been established to develop the career of a physician trainee with an interest in Medical Education. The main duties of the post holder will be in developing written and clinical assessments at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and contributing to the Divisional teaching programme at undergraduate and postgraduate level. There will also be opportunity for developing research interests and contributing to the Division&#8217;s research programme in assessment in medical education. The post is designed for those wishing to develop a career in medical education, in conjunction with training as a medical physician. The post is structured to allow candidates with a current training number in a medical specialty (e.g. rheumatology) to rotate into medical education for 1-2 years before returning to continuation towards a Certificate of Specialist Training (CST).</p>
<p>The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.</p>
<p>Full GMC registration is required for this post.</p>
<p>The candidate will have experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They must have a medical degree and enroled in an approved training programme for specialist training   </p>

<p>We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced IT Project Manager to lead on the procurement and implementation of a new timetabling system.      </p>
<p>The University of Westminster is improving its existing academic timetabling management processes and system and has created a project to deliver an efficient timetabling system, improve collaborative working practices and provide an excellent end user experience which increases space efficiencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the project planning, management and delivery of up to date, University-wide, timetable management. </p>
<p>The post-holder will lead a small cross-departmental team dedicated to the delivery of this project, act as liaison with implementation partners, co-ordinate activities of technical teams and liaise with the Schools and Corporate Departments for delivery.  The project uses Prince2 for planning, delivery and reporting. </p>
<p>The successful candidate must be educated to at least degree level and hold a certification at Prince2 Practitioner level. Substantial knowledge of academic timetabling and space management processes, preferably in higher education is essential. You will be highly IT literate with excellent communication and presentation skills. Substantial experience of working within an IT project management environment with demonstrable successes in delivery of large corporate systems is essential.</p>

<p>The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) was established in 1977 with the object of promoting scholarship and learning of Muslim cultures and societies, historical as well as contemporary, and a better understanding of their relationship with other societies and faiths.</p>
<p>The IIS invites applications for the role of Website Technical and Administrative Officer. This position will be part of the Institute&#8217;s website team and will report to the Communications and Development Manager.</p>
<p>The post holder will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative and technical tasks associated with the operation of the IIS website. These will include liaising with other members of staff and the website team in developing new content for the website, uploading content into the Content Management System (CMS) and supporting its use in conjunction with the external CMS providers and support team. S/he will contribute to the migration of the site to a new Drupal-based CMS with a new design in tandem with the external CMS providers.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will have experience with Content Management Systems, particularly Drupal-based and complementary website technologies. Knowledge of HTML, Java, PHP and/or other relevant and emerging web development languages is preferred. In addition general administrative experience and basic project management skills are required. Experience of working in a complex cross-cultural environment would be an asset.</p>

<p>We wish to recruit a researcher to carry out research into Digital Coherent Receivers for Coherent Access Links as part of the EU PIANO+ project &#8216; Component Requirements and Integrated Transceiver Investigation for Coherent Access Links (CRITICAL)&#8217;. This involves UCL along with project partners from Deutsche Telekom, National Physical Laboratories, Nokia Siemens Networks, Oclaro and PMC-Sierra. Reflecting UCL&#8217;s contribution to this project, the postholder will be expected to carry out research into digital coherent transceivers which will include the design and build prototype digital coherent transceiver which will allow a contended data rate of 10Gbit/s per user to the home. This will then be tested with the project partners, with the postholder being responsible for designing and running experiments, recording, analysing and writing up results accordingly. The appointment will be made at either Research Associate or Senior Research Associate level depending on experience. The post is funded until 30th June 2014 in the first instance. </p>
<p>The successful applicant should have research skills commensurate with a PhD in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, although it is desirable that applicants hold a PhD. Given that research will be disseminated at conferences and through journal articles, the applicant should have excellent written and spoken English coupled with good presentation skills. While not essential it is desirable if the applicant has experience of digital coherent optical receivers, FGPA programming or working in an experimental environment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are looking for an experienced educational developer with a strong background in distance and on-line learning to train distance learning tutors and develop staff development materials for use on-line or by self-study.  The successful candidate will have a pro-active approach focused on quality and results and the ability to support the development of staff from a wide range of levels and backgrounds, both academic and non-academic.  With a particular focus on distance learning, s/he will also contribute to other aspects of a broad, very well respected programme of staff development activities. </p>
<p>To succeed in this role the candidate will need to be flexible, well-organised and focussed on results, as well as an accomplished facilitator of distance-based learning. </p>
<p>The Teaching Fellow, Distance and On-Line Learning will be responsible to the Head of Staff and Educational Development for facilitating the training and development of distance learning tutors and other staff involved in distance learning course design and management.  They will also be responsible for converting staff development courses and materials into learning formats that can be accessed by colleagues remotely or at a distance either on-line or through self-study, and for developing new tailored materials. </p>
<p>Salary will be on the Academic Pathway grade 6 £35,511 to £40,349 per annum inclusive. Appointment will be for a three-year period.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND POLICY</strong></p>
<p>The London School of Hygiene  Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) seeks to consolidate and build on its strengths as the lead institution in Europe on global health research, teaching and policy through the appointment of a Senior Lecturer in Global Health Policy.</p>
<p>The Senior Lecturer in Global Health Policy will enhance a number of strategic activities to significantly raise the School&#8217;s profile in global health.  The successful individual will hold a PhD in political science, politics, international relations, policy analysis or a closely allied subject area, and be an experienced scholar in analysing health concerns. The individual would complement existing staff with expertise in politics, international relations, development studies and social policy.  As an appointment within the Department of Global Health and Development, the Senior Lecturer would work to unify existing activities within the broad field of global health policy and play an important teaching role.</p>
<p>The post-holder would be expected to:</p>
<ul>
<li>have a disciplinary background in political science, politics, international relations, policy analysis or related field;</li>
<li>contribute to the development of a programme of research concerned with global health policy;</li>
<li>secure additional research funds in the broad area of global health policy;</li>
<li>make a contribution to LSHTM&#8217;s teaching on global health, especially the recently launched Distance Learning MSc in Global Health Policy;</li>
<li>supervise Research Degree students in relevant areas.</li>
</ul>
<p>This post will be a full-time appointment for five years in the first instance. Salary is on the Academic Pathway, Grade 8 from £50,183 &#8211; £57,621 per annum inclusive.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year for all staff. In addition to this there are 6 fixed-date &#8220;Director&#8217;s Days&#8221;.</p>

We currently have a unique opportunity to work in our Research and Evaluation Department, the aim of which is to demonstrate the effectiveness of The Place2Be&#8217;s valued services.</p>

<p>In this interesting and varied role, you will be responsible for informing our practice through regular reports on The Place2Be&#8217;s activities in schools &#8211; analysing, interpreting and presenting data to a variety of audiences using a range of evaluation tools. You will be working as part of the team and carrying out new evaluation methodologies as well as overseeing the data monitoring processes.</p>
<p>This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and independent researcher with project management skills, knowledge of research and statistical techniques and excellent reporting skills. You will also be an effective communicator and a flexible team player. You will ideally have a post-graduate qualification in a social science discipline and have a very good knowledge of MS Excel and Access applications.</p>
