St. George’s, University of London (SGUL) is seeking a dynamic senior manager and leader to develop a bold and innovative approach to the management and leadership of Research Enterprise Services across the University and NHS Trust. You will need to be able to rapidly develop strong credibility and gain the respect of key staff across the University and St George’s NHS Trust. Research and Enterprise Services plays a vital role in supporting the delivery research, enterprise and knowledge exchange activities. 

SGUL’s Research Strategy is directed at world-class research and innovation, and productive entrepreneurial activities in distinctive areas. The recent success by SGUL in MRC grant applications demonstrates the strength and quality of its research. 

You will work closely with the Dean of Research Enterprise, Associate Medical Director for Research/Associate Dean for Clinical Research to strengthen and develop institutional and external networks in support of trans-disciplinary research, enterprise and innovation activity. You will also work with the Dean of Research Enterprise to develop and implement the Enterprise Strategy for SGUL which will incorporate Innovation and fully exploit the broad commercial potential of intellectual property 

You should possess a current and comprehensive understanding of the external context and key policy considerations within research and enterprise in a HE or NHS environment. You should be well versed in the requirements and operation of the Research Excellence Framework, NHS Clinical Governance and Study Sponsorship. You should also possess significant experience within a similar senior strategic role within Research and/or Enterprise
